I’ve got a couple of looking back at 2013 posts coming up that will be all about me, me, ME!
But before that, I wanted to post about a few of my favorite posts/projects from other bloggers over the past year.
I kept it to five as an exercise in self restraint. I could, of course, have gone on and on and on. But here are five projects that really stood out to me and kept me going back over and over to gawk at. At least a few of them have made previous appearances here. And if some of these blogs are new to you, they’re all great reads that you should most definitely check out.
Please follow the links and pin from the original sources 🙂
1. Mini Mudroom Reveal at Nalle’s House
I love how Anu at Nalle’s House turned this tiny space into something so useful and pretty. Lots of tutorials for awesome but very doable projects like that floating bench and those embroidered baskets.
2. Entry Hall Reveal at Shift Ctrl Art
I think that I spent most of the day that Katja posted this reveal coming back to look at it over and over again. So much color! So fun! Katja painted the moose herself. And made all the pillows. And then she called the whole thing a “mini project.” Uh huh.
3. Interiors By Kenz’s Gold Scallop Wall
Kenz is doing an amazing matryoshka themed nursery for her new baby. I wish I had a whole nursery reveal to put here, because that would mean I’d already gotten to see the finished nursery, but I think she’s busy enjoying her new baby or some such nonsense, so I’ll have to settle for posting my favorite project thus far: this awesome gold stenciled wall.
4. Primitive and Proper’s Sheep Wall
It took me until right now to notice that this was, apparently, the year of the entry way as far as I was concerned. The trend will continue with my number five pick. Anyway, Cassie from Primitive and Proper can do whimsy better than anyone I know, and her fabulous foyer with this sheep stenciled wall illustrates that perfectly. The one black sheep? Genius!
5. View Along the Way’s Headboard turned Bench
Umm, yep….I’m a little foyer-fixated this year. And this is another choice that’s sneakily a way to get in a whole room full of great projects by featuring one of said projects. Kelly and her husband turned a headboard into that bench there and made it look like it was always a bench. And also she bought that amazing rug AND made a table for the other side of the foyer that you can’t even see in this picture. So much fabulous in one little space!
Back tomorrow with more of the end of the year stuff!
What a great idea to show what inspired you this year! Seriously great projects. Now I need a mud room or entry way stat!
Thanks for the feature, my friend! Those other four were SERIOUSLY inspiring to me. (I would paint every single thing with gold scallops if I could!) Happy new year!
right? I think I need a second house just for scallops. Scallop House…nice ring to it.
i want to kiss you! you are so sweet to share this!!! and yes, everyone here inspires me as well! i am so excited to know you all!
I think I’ve posted your sheep about 3 times at this point, so in love with them am I. I feel a little SHEEPish about how much I love them. Sorry. Had to be done 🙂
Fabulous projects! You clearly have a thing for entries. 😉 I’m smitten with all of them, too. Mostly because I have mudrooms on the mind at all times.
Right? What I wouldn’t give for a real mudroom!
Thanks so much Gretchen! I really loved all the other projects. So inspiring!
What a great entry way overload post. I love it 🙂 Thanks so much for including mine. That made my week 🙂 What a great group you put me in too 🙂 The scallops almost don’t even need anything in front of them, right 🙂
you know where those scallops would look great? In an entryway!
