One month already! I didn’t do four week pictures, since he was going to be a month old just a couple of days later. I can’t believe he’s already outgrown weekly photo shoots!
Abe at one month is awake a lot more than he used to be. Fortunately, he’s generally in a pretty good mood as long as someone’s holding him. I’m not really sure how people get the kind of babies that you can set down. I know they’re not just a myth, because I have seen some with my own eyes. But I’ve certainly never had one myself. I like to tell myself it just means my babies are exceptionally bright and need constant mental stimulation. Yes, that must be it. But, seriously, shouldn’t the novelty of breathing air be enough to entertain them for at least a few weeks?
But, really, he is a lovely baby. I mean, just look at him! That’s his almost smile up there. This photo session was relatively non-traumatic. Well, except for when we tried to get pictures of his brothers holding him.
I don’t know exactly how big he is, because he doesn’t go back to the pediatrician with her fancy scale until he’s two months. But I come up with pretty much exactly 10 pounds when I attempt to weigh him here. He still fits in 0-3 month clothes, but it’s starting to be possible to envision him outgrowing them at some point now. He has squishy fat rolls on his thighs.
Now that we’re switching to monthly photos, I thought it would be a good idea to work the older kids in there, too. They don’t change as fast as Abe, but they’re growing up too fast, too. So my plan is to do one older kid each month and then all four kids together every fourth month. So everyone will have his picture taken individually 3 times a year.
I started with Ari. But Gus felt left out, so I took a few of him, too. I don’t know what Milo was doing, but apparently he wasn’t too broken up about not getting his picture taken.
Abe outtakes:
My biggest boy, Ari (who consented to change out of his pajamas, but refused to brush his hair):
And August with Abe:
Awww. You have such a beautiful family and those curtains are proving great for a back drop 🙂
Thank you! I’m loving the curtains’ alternate function 🙂
Aww he’s beautiful! Happy one-month, Abe!
thanks, kelly!
I LOVE THIS BABY!!!
I love him, too–even when he’s at his least pleasant, which is right around now every night! But Dave has him at the moment, so I’m appreciating him from afar.
You know…I think that it is fantastic that you take these pictures of your boys! I need to do better with that! Abe is a DOLL!!!
I can’t believe he’s a month already! I love the photos with his brothers and I like your plan for photographing the older boys too.
