Hey, I kept up my monthly reviews for a whole two months before I fell behind! Things are feeling kind of light on projects around here lately–I feel like with the bathroom tile and Abe’s room and all we kind of started the year with a pace we were unlikely to maintain–but around here we like to call May “Almost Summer” and summer–amazing, school-free summer–is when we (try to) get lots of stuff done.
I had a great run of fun guest posts and features on other sites during March and April, which made me feel all loved and validated:
*I talked about fostering dogs and our two “foster failures,” Rory and Fiesta on Cuckoo4Design
*I talked about my house at Number Fifty-Three and Primitive and Proper
*Apartment Therapy featured my master bedroom makeover and Abe’s vintage Fisher Price photos
And here’s what we’ve been up to around here:
*We made a mini home office in our extra wide upstairs hallway.
*I talked about collecting vintage candlesticks and planters
*We got a new rug for the foyer and I updated the pictures of it
*We tried to go on a trip to Columbus, GA, but Abe got sick and RUINED it for everyone
*We FINALLY updated the house tour page, complete with a clickable floor plan
*We finished Abe’s new room and moved him all the way down the hall. Now it’s just a sea of boys’ rooms when I walk down there. So many boys!
*Abe turned 14 months old. Look how excited he was about it.
*I framed part of a poem
*We (also finally) finished our master bedroom!
*I picked out (and ordered) fabric for the dining room chairs, AKA, the slowest moving project in history (I also have an unopened paint sprayer and paint for them in my garage. SUMMER is coming!)
*We had a great visit with Dave’s sister/BIL/our nephews and went to a science museum
*I talked about all the things we want to do in Abe’s former nursery/our future grown up office/hang out space
*We (started to) build a swingset! This took a long time and is largely responsible for the lack of other accomplishments in April. But it’s super fun, so that’s okay
*We also went to Stone Mountain with the cousins
*Abe continued to age and turned 15 months old
*I cut up a book and made a banner
*We went on a scary ferris wheel
*I talked about the endless list of stuff we do outside of our house
I am noticing a decidedly green/blue/turquoise hue to your two boards and I am totally loving that 🙂 It’s been wonderful following along 🙂 Abe’s whale shirt is awesome!!
Thanks, Katja! That whale shirt is one of many….I can’t quite pass up a whale shirt for him 🙂
Awesome accomplishments! And I think I missed some posts. Is that possible? I totally need to go back and reread.
Angela @ Number Fifty-Three
Anything’s possible…I AM pretty sneaky 😉
I would say that you got an insane amount of things done! And um…can I have you come here to help me with my son’s room?!?! Seriously! That office/hang out room is the same vibe I am looking to infuse into his room! Just fantastic! Happy Weekend lady! Nicole xoxo
lol–I’m afraid I’m needed here to work on my own sons’ room…otherwise I’d totally be there 😉
what a fun and busy month! can’t wait to see what may holds… then june…. and then i will hug you in july. and dance, party or not.
Whew! Look at all you got done! I can’t wait to get all caught up! 🙂
Thanks, Brynne! I like to post it all in photo collages, because it looks like we did more that way than when I just look around my messy house 😉
You are a ROCK STAR!
