Woot! I’m guest hosting Thrift Score Thursday again this week! It’s my very favorite thing in the whole world to guest host, and I’m not just saying that because it’s the only thing I’ve ever guest hosted.
The way it works is you share your thrifty finds (from garage sales, Craigslist, flea markets, thrift stores…..wherever!) all week long on Instagram and tag them #thriftscrorethursday. Then on Thursdays Brynne, Cassie, Corinna, Trisha, and a guest host share their favorites. This is all incredibly exciting. Reading all the Thrift Score Thursday posts is the very first thing I do on Thursday mornings. I check to see what got featured the way others might check football game scores.
Here are a couple of my favorites:
Kayla didn’t bring this wardrobe home with her because she didn’t have a place for it. Which is tragic. But at least she snapped this picture who we could all admire it from afar. Kayla finds a ton of great stuff….check her out on Instagram!
I’m completely charmed by this bunny that Sandra found. I mean, I’m a fan of most brass animals, but this one is extra special. Check out her Instagram feed here.
And my find for this week. I’m cheating just a little, because I’m not really the one who found it. My friend Kristi found it at my favorite thrift shop and gave it to me for Christmas. BUT it IS a thrift score and I, ultimately, am the one who scored it, so I decided it counts.
Isn’t it pretty? It’s an oil painting of…..a little fishing village I guess? There’s a boat, and water, and some little huts up on stilts, so I’m going with fishing village. I love the style of it. I’m amassing quite the collection of paintings/prints with water in them (some of them former Thrift Score Thursday finds), and I have big plans for a gallery wall putting them all together. I should get on that.
Here’s a close up so you can see the details a little more:
Now go check out what everyone else found this week and what they’re featuring!
What an amazing piece! I wonder if it has Asian origins. There are so many little details, I’m suprised someone wanted to let this go!
I love the wardrobe/cabinet so so much!
oh i am a sucker for vintage paintings and love the lines in it. and i ADORE that cabinet and was hurting deep down inside that kayla didn’t have a place for it.
We can only hope that it found a good home 🙁
Those paintings make me swoon! Must be the art historian in me, but I can’t get enough of good art!
Thanks, Kenz! I would say you can never have too many fun paintings, but the stash in my basement with no wall to hang on might beg to differ 😉
Yay! We love having you cohost Gretchen! And yes – a thrifted gifted painting totally counts because not only was it originally a thrift score but then you ended up with it for FREE! Can’t get any more of a thrift score than that! 🙂
You’re right–I am SO thrifty!
Love your art! I haven’t been thrifting nearly enough (or at all). You are making me jones for a thrift trip.
I get antsy if it’s been more than a week….I’m a bit of an addict 🙂
great finds! The other day I was at our habitat restore and there were these 2 tiny glass squirrels in the kitchen section… I thought of you right away 🙂 haha
