I decided to go with the foyer for the next part of the house tour to get updated because 1. it’s small and easy to clean to get it ready and 2. it has a new rug! with birds on it! Let’s start there.
I’ve had my eye on this rug from Urban Outfitters for months now, but I’ve been waiting for a sale before I bought it. And then they had one right after Christmas, but I waited too long and missed it. But then they finally had another sale a few weeks ago (not as good as the post Christmas one. boo), so I ordered it. And here it is!
I love it. But it needs a rug pad desperately; it’s very slide-y and impossible to vacuum. Also, it makes the foyer really full of pattern. But, I mean, once you’ve sharpied squirrels on your wall there’s no use being timid, right?
Nothing else in here has changed recently, so I’ll just go through right quick and give sources and links to projects.
The paint color here (and all across the front of the house) is Benjamin Moore’s Nantucket Fog. The other rug is the zig cotton dhurrie from Serena and Lily (looks like they don’t sell the purple one anymore).
The white dresser was a Craigslist find.
The mirror came off of the desk in Ari’s room.
The foyer light came with the house. I really need to take it down and clean the 8 million little prisms.
We made the bench and coat rack; wire baskets are from Amazon.
I talk about the chalkboard baby gate here:
And about the squirrels here:
Now back to work on the big new house tour page! Someday it will be all finished.

Ha–right back at you, Cassie! Ah, blue and white…my house is lucky is has any other colors, these days….I’m so in love with blue lately.
Love the new rug. It’s perfect for the space. I have loved seeing all the projects in this room.
Super good! I totally love how you mix and match patterns and colors so easily. The entry looks fantastic & I love how it flows into the other rooms.

Aha, that’s the rug you talked about and I love it!
Thanks, Julia! I was feeling a little bad that it took me so long to post about it after I told you it was coming; I hope the suspense wasn’t too painful for you 😉
😉
I love Urban Outfitters rugs. They are gems. It looks swell 🙂
Thanks, Kenz! I keep looking on there and seeing rugs I like, but this is the first one I’ve actually ordered 🙂
Ooo, I like the rug! And that baby gate is awesome. I had somehow missed it before!
The rug is great! How come I never noticed your arched doorways before? They are amazing!
The foyer is beautiful friend! Those rugs completely rock! A job well done indeed!!!
It looks great! Love that rug! And that squirrel wall – I’m off to check it out!
Beautiful new rug! Jealous of that Craigslist dresser. Looks great!
Thank you!I just looked on Craigslist on a whim one day, and there it was (cheap!) I much prefer that to stalking for months looking for something 😉
I’ve found some really great rugs at Urban lately! Haven’t pulled the trigger on any though. Kind of a cart before the house type situation over here. Just a side note I love the arches into the foyer. So beautiful!
Thanks, Amber–I know how you appreciate a good arch!
Your foyer is amaze balls! I can already tell that your house is a beaut! Invite me over sometime? haha.
ha–any time! thanks so much, corinna!
Beautiful! I love the blues and vintage touches, like the globe. The rugs add the perfect pop of pattern! Would love for you to share at Fridays Unfolded!
